Most remote gig in Texas you have ever played?
We once played a wedding deep in a cave at Longhorn Cavern State Park in Burnet, TX, rumored to have been Texas outlaw Sam Bass' hideout.
What’s your definition of Texas music?
There's a certain lilt and swagger that holds the beats together, unifying all genres into this Texas stew. From Billy Joe Shaver to Townes, to Lightnin' Hopkins, Willie Nelson, Freddie King, Bob Wills, Doug Sahm and Gatemouth Brown... Heck even the gospel, metal, jazz, hip hop and especially the Tejano all have something in how the notes hang together. I think it's something you feel more than hear. Maybe it's to fit the way we dance...

Best four-day Texas vacation?
Since I’m on the road all the time, the best vacation to me is just to stay at home! But I always recommend to folks when I’m traveling to fly into Austin and then drive out to Marfa. That way you get a good night of live music and then a gorgeous drive out to the desert, so you can understand just how big and diverse and interesting the state is.
